Appalachian Customs Service LLC
A U.S. customs brokerage firm licensed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). It operates under a CBP
national permit from its office in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and files electronically through CBP's
Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) for shipments arriving at ports across the United States.
What a licensed customs broker does
A customs broker is licensed by CBP to act as the importer's agent. The broker prepares and files the customs
entry, classifies the goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, calculates the duties owed, and makes sure the
shipment complies with federal import law before it is released.
